Few of us have not faced the difficulty of coping with health issues either for our loved ones or ourselves. Our gospels are filled with stories of Jesus praying touching and healing those who were in need, both physically and spiritual. The connections between faith and healing have created a widespread interest in holistic approaches in medicine and an increased interest in the contributions of faith based medical services.

ACC members strongly affirmed the resolution moved by the Archbishop of Canterbury that called for individual dioceses in the Anglican Communion not to take unilateral action or adopt policies that would strain 'our communion with one another' without reference to their provincial authorities. It called on all dioceses to keep in mind 'the impact of their decisions within the wider Communion.'

What a great privilege it is for the Twelfth Council Meeting of the ACC to be meeting here in Hong Kong, the youngest of all Provinces in the Anglican Communion and yet a Province that is rich in history. The hospitality and the support which have been given to this Council meeting by the Provincial Office of the Church in Hong Kong have been absolutely outstanding. Certainly I know I express your gratitude when we thank Archbishop Peter Kwong for inviting this Council meeting to be held here in Hong Kong.

Bishop Birney is the Archbishop of Canterbury's Envoy to Rwanda and has spent recent months visiting the country and its Bishops. Despite continued requests and repeated visits by Church officials to those in exile, these Bishops, fearing reprisals, have refused to respond to the request that they return to their leaderless dioceses.

You shall not make for yourself any other idol, for God is spirit, the spirit and the ground of all beings, which is love. The creation is an expression of his great spirit of love. We live in a world of love. Therefore you shall not dishonour the name of the Lord your God. God is the ground of our being. Our beings are grounded in love. God is love and love is God.
