
The third Inter-Anglican Theological and Doctrinal Commission has published its final report Communion, Conflict and Hope: the Kuala Lumpur Report. Since the 1998 Lambeth Conference, Anglicans have had reason to focus attention on the nature of their Communion and on questions about how the Church’s unity can be sustained during times of intense disagreement.

“Now is the time to re-kindle the work of this Commission.” This statement from the Rt Revd Musonda T S Mwamba, Bishop of Botswana, set the tone for the first meeting of the All Africa Anglican – Lutheran Commission (AAALC) since 2001. The Commission met 12-14 December 2007, in Johannesburg, South Africa, with the Lutheran side serving as hosts.

The Inter-Anglican Standing Commission on Ecumenical Relations (IASCER) met in Cairo, Egypt, from Wednesday, 5th to Monday, 10th December 2007, under the chairmanship of the Most Revd Drexel Gomez, Primate of the Church in the Province of the West Indies. The Commission is charged with reviewing current international ecumenical dialogues involving Anglicans, and provincial and regional initiatives towards unity with other Christians.

A consultation has been held in London to review the progress of the report of the Anglican - Methodist International Commission Sharing in the Apostolic Communion, which was received by the World Methodist Council in 1996 and the Lambeth Conference in 1998.
Rev. Canon Dr John Saint Helier Gibaut, from the Anglican Church of Canada, will head the World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission on Faith and Order as of January 2008.

On Friday 14 September, the Anglican Communion Office and the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity’s Information Service are releasing the definitive text of the report of the International Anglican Roman Catholic Commission for Unity and Mission (IARCCUM). The report, entitled Growing Together in the Unity and Mission, offers to the Anglican Communion and to the Roman Catholic Church a concise summary of 40 years of Anglican-Roman Catholic theological dialogue
The Third Anglican - Lutheran International Commission (ALIC) held its second meeting at White Point, Nova Scotia, Canada between 14 and 20 May, 2007, under the chairmanship of the Rt Revd Fred Hiltz, Anglican Bishop of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, and the Revd Dr Thomas Nyiwe, President of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cameroon. The Commission has been established by the Anglican Consultative Council and the Lutheran World Federation to continue the dialogue between Anglicans and Lutherans on the worldwide level which has been in progress since 1970
The Anglican Old Catholic International Co-ordinating Council (AOCICC) met in the Monasterio de Benedictinas de la Natividad de Nuestra Señora in Madrid from 5 to 9 March. This was the first meeting following the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Bonn Agreement in 2006. The Council reviewed the events held during the anniversary year, reflecting on the stimulus this has given to closer joint life and mission.

Growing Together in Unity and Mission is being published as an agreed statement of IARCCUM (the International Anglican - Roman Catholic Commission for Unity and Mission), and is to be published under the Commission’s authority, not as an official statement of the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion. It is being put forward to foster discussion and reflection, as the statement clearly states.
